I began quilting in 2003. At that time one of our daughters was engaged, and wanted to make her future mother-in-law a quilt. She asked her grandmother for instruction during a holiday visit, and I observed the lessons being taught. As an engineering professional it became clear to me that this process really involved combining geometric shapes into something useful, exactly the thing I spent my days producing using computer-aided-design. What I quickly discovered however, was that connecting all these shapes together and getting an acceptable result required a learned skill, from a lot of practice (and patience)!
Over the years I’ve continued to learn, and try new things. Now that I’ve retired from the corporate world, I can turn my attention to the thing that makes me happy, quilting.
I purchased an APQS Millennium longarm machine in 2019, with the Intelliquilter computerized system, allows me to utilize my extensive background in computer-aided-design to help produce beautiful quilts.
